Update: 12/15/2025
Vietnam has taken an important step toward facilitating international travel as the Government issued Resolution No. 389/NQ-CP on December 2, 2025, adding 41 international ports of entry where foreigners may enter and exit the country using an electronic visa (e-visa). With this update, the total number of entry points accepting e-visas nationwide has increased to 83.
1. Expansion of Ports of Entry
This update focuses on three main categories of ports of entry:
International Airports:
- Long Thanh (to be applied once it becomes operational)
- Gia Binh (to be applied once it becomes operational)
- Vinh
- Chu Lai
Chu Lai Airport - Quang Nam
Land Border Checkpoints:
- Including ports such as Dong Dang (Lang Son), Lao Cai, Tra Linh (Cao Bang), Long Sap (Son La), Nam Giang (Da Nang), Le Thanh (Gia Lai), along with many other checkpoints nationwide.

2. Benefits for International Tourism
With an e-visa, foreign visitors can enter and exit Vietnam multiple times within a 90-day period without the need to apply for a traditional visa at an embassy or consulate. Expanding the network of ports of entry that accept e-visas is expected to boost tourism, make it easier to attract international travelers, and support the growth of the service economy.
3. Related Policies
In addition to expanding ports of entry that accept e-visas, the Government has also implemented a visa exemption policy for visitors to Phu Quoc, allowing stays of up to 30 days provided they remain on the island throughout their visit. Furthermore, under the 2025 tourism stimulus program, travelers from certain countries such as Poland, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland are eligible for visa-free stays of up to 45 days when participating in tours organized by authorized travel agencies.
The decision to expand e-visa entry points represents a strategic move by Vietnam to enhance its appeal to international visitors and promote sustainable tourism development in the coming period.
