Thanks to the organization of numerous attractive activities and events, many unique highlights, and effective tourism promotion campaigns implemented in close coordination among authorities, agencies, and tourism businesses, the number of visitors to Da Nang during the Hung Kings' holiday and the April 30 - May 1 holiday in 2026 increased significantly compared to 2025.

According to statistics from the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, during this year's extended holiday period (from April 25 to May 3, 2026), the total number of tourists visiting the city was estimated at more than 1.46 million, up 35% year-on-year.

Of this figure, international arrivals were estimated at over 621,000, up 24% compared to the same period in 2025. Overnight visitors were estimated at more than 724,000, an increase of 31% year-on-year. Total tourism revenue was estimated at over VND 5.727 trillion, nearly 35% higher than the same period in 2025.

Notably, visitors to Da Nang during this year's holiday showed higher demand for premium services than in previous years. Although the citywide average hotel occupancy rate reached around 75-80%, occupancy rates at 4- to 5-star hotels and equivalent accommodations climbed to 90-95%.

Contributing to the increase in international visitors was the arrival of the STAR VOYAGER cruise ship at Tien Sa Port on April 29, 2026. The cruise brought 1,500 tourists and more than 1,000 crew members and staff from Hong Kong to visit famous attractions in Da Nang, including the Marble Mountains, Linh Ung Pagoda on Son Tra Peninsula, the Cham Sculpture Museum, Hoi An, My Son Sanctuary, and the Cam Thanh Coconut Forest.

Ms. Truong Thi Hong Hanh, Director of the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that tourism in Da Nang during the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day and April 30 - May 1 holiday period in 2026 had shown strong recovery. Security and safety measures were effectively implemented, while activities, events, and festivals for residents and tourists were successfully organized.

Accordingly, the Department instructed its professional divisions, public service units, and tourism businesses to organize a wide range of cultural, artistic, sports, and tourism activities with diverse content and formats to serve both residents and visitors throughout the holiday period, while proactively ensuring rescue and emergency response operations.

In addition, to help residents and tourists conveniently follow and participate in cultural, sports, and tourism events, the Department provided and promoted information about holiday activities and events throughout Da Nang City to relevant agencies and organizations, while continuously updating the media to support tourism promotion and communications efforts.

At the same time, many attractive political, cultural, sports, and tourism events were organized for residents and visitors. Highlights included the "Da Nang Beach Tourism Season Opening 2026" program themed "Brilliant Summer," held from April 25 to May 3, 2026, at East Sea Park, Son Tra Peninsula, and beaches such as Phuoc My, My An, My Khe, and Nguyen Tat Thanh. Other activities included the "Keep Da Nang's Sea Green" Environmental Festival and the Son Tra Walking Day.

In particular, the 2026 tourism stimulus program "Da Nang - Return to the Original Touch" was launched alongside stronger promotion of tourism products and travel programs to attract visitors during the holiday season. The city also implemented the "Top 100 Da Nang Touchpoints" program in 2026, as well as events such as the "Echoes of My Son" program (April 26, 2026) and the "Colors of Cham Heritage" Festival.
