The urban space is oriented for development and divided into 12 subdivisions. Prominent as the Han River and East Bank subdivision, with an area of ​​more than 6,500 hectares and a population of about 484,000 people, is the existing urban area that has been renovated and reconstructed to form a compact urban area in the city center.

Lien Chieu port subdivision, area of ​​1,258ha, population of about 19,000 people, development of Lien Chieu port, logistics cluster, seaport urban area; High-Tech Sub-Zone with an area of ​​about 5,679 hectares, expected population of about 314,000 people, development of high technology, clean industry, information technology along with the northern bus station, urban areas have been and are being formed in Hoa Son, Hoa Lien, Hoa Hiep Nam.

Thus, Da Nang will meet its role in strategic positioning to promote the development of Da Nang by 2030 as a city that is part of the global supply chain network; entrance gate of the East - West economic corridor; joining the ASEAN smart network as well as a global lifestyle destination; Center for tourism, services and marine economy.

Evaluating this project, an expert emphasized that the area on both banks of the Han River is still a special highlight in the project. However, Da Nang needs to be more drastic when over two decades of urbanization in Da Nang, the city's space has changed rapidly but a master plan and spatial development on both banks of the Han River are still struggling.

Dr. Architect Do Tu Lan - former deputy director of the Department of Urban Development, Ministry of Construction, pointed out the reality of looking back at dozens of kilometers of the Han River from Cam Le to Thuan Phuoc estuary due to focusing on "filling the foundation" for two decades. Over the years, residential areas located along the river from Son Tra district running to Ngu Hanh Son, from Hoa Phuoc down to Hoa Xuan have developed spontaneously, the architecture of buildings and houses is messy and ugly.

Architect Do Tu Lan proposed planning to develop the space on both sides of the Han River from an ecological perspective, overcoming unreasonable problems such as dense construction density and too little green space...

Sharing with Business Forum, leading architects enthusiastically determined that Da Nang needs a change in Han River planning, increasing the area of ​​park land and green trees to 15-20%; Expand the scale of land use for parks and trees. In particular, it is necessary to control the number of high-rise buildings at a moderate level, so as not to create two giant walls on the riverbank.
