Lieu Chieu district is located on the north side of the Hai Van Pass, bordering the Hai Van Tunnel and Hue Province. Da Nang Bus Center is located in this area and plays an important role in north-south transportation. To the east, it is bordered by Da Nang Bay and Thanh Khe district.
There are two industrial parks in Lien Chieu District: Lien Chieu Industrial Park and Hoa Khanh Industrial Park. In addition, the Hoa Khanh Industrial Park is also being expanded. It attracts more than 200 factories, the city's leading industrial enterprises, the central government, domestic and foreign investors, and employs more than 30,000 people. Development of Lien Chieu Port Area (generally known as Da Nang Port), which plays an important role as the starting point of the East-West Economic Corridor connecting Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam, and the development of Da Nang High-tech Park (DHTP), Da Nang IT Park, etc. Along with development, it is also developing as an IT, manufacturing, logistics, and import/export base.
The industrial parks are also home to factories and offshore IT bases of major Japanese companies such as Mabuchi Motor, Murata Manufacturing, HOSO, FUJIDAN, and DAIWA, and in the future many Japanese and foreign companies will receive corporate tax rate relief from the government at each industrial park. It is an area where more and more Japanese and foreign companies are expected to expand into the area from 2023 onwards, thanks to preferential treatment such as tax exemptions, rent discounts, and some customs duty exemptions.
Many educational institutions such as Da Nang University of Technology and Da Nang Education University, as well as general hospitals such as Da Nang Tumor Hospital, Da Nang Transportation Hospital, and Da Nang Psychiatric Hospital are located in Lien Chieu.
This area is not only in demand for large-scale industries and logistics warehouses, but also has a concentration of industrial parks and universities, so rental apartments for students and employees are popular. The area is also in high demand for commercial real estate such as restaurants and retail businesses.
